Now that my tank of 'righteousness' is full, all my rants about Christianity, faith and beliefs can finally go up to the surface - and I think it's so much better than my opinion about Twilight, right?

So my brother in law sent me this link about a girl's testimonial. She claimed that God brought her to heaven and hell, and how she saw MJ, Selina (a dancer, apparently), and a pope in hell. She was also brought to heaven where she met Moses, Abraham, Joshua, Mary Magdalena, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and how they all looked so young and beautiful and full of glory. In her testimonial, God told her to spread the fact that heaven is real, and so does hell. He also told her to warn all the believers to turn around from their sins and go back to the right path.

It was also mentioned that when you listen to MJ's songs, you're on your way to the hell.
I was about to broadcast the link to all my contacts in blackberry but then I accidentally deleted the link and later on I was told that this girl asked for donation at the end of her testimonial. Now I don't want to be judgmental but I think we believers should stop doing that. Asking for donation right after sharing a testimony. It's just how people see you, and they will judge you, and they won't believe you.

Another thing is, about the songs... I have to admit, I'm a fan of MJ and I've got like a lot of his songs on my iTunes. And when I read the testimonial, I felt a bit weird about that part. I mean, it's true MJ might sold his soul for fame, I can't be sure, but to claim that listening to Earth Song equals walking straight to hell is just.. weird.

She also said the same thing about watching TV shows.

Now I'm not saying the girl was lying. It might be the truth. But there's also a chance that she's lying. Personally, I think, it's safe to listen to some 'worldly' songs. As long as you're not addicted to it, or bound by it, or causing you to commit sins.

I think the main principle is as written in Matthew 18:8-9:
“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire."

So if something - it could be anything - starts to control you or stir you up to sin against God, and you let it happen, then you're on your way to hell, for sure. And of course there are songs that really are sinful, such as Lady Gaga's Judas - no, it's not art - or all her other songs. And here's why the lyrics of a song is very important, IMO. Because when you keep on repeating words or sentences, in one way or another, you'll start to believe in it, and you'll remember it, and sometimes, subconsciously, you'll live your life according to those words. And it's bad.

And I do agree that media nowadays is teaching all the wrong things. I mean, a guy like Barney Stinson doesn't exist. There's no way a guy that shallow - and mean and smart - could be sweet, monogamous and romantic as well. Nope. And it's not okay to sleep with different women every single night. STD is the real thing. There's no swag in that. So, just.. realize that what you see/listen is not always true.

But hey, I could be wrong. This is how I interpret the Gospel, and how it's related to music/showbiz nowadays.

Most importantly, it doesn't matter if the girl was lying or telling the truth. Because that doesn't make Heaven and Hell any less real. Heaven is real. And so does hell. That's the truth.
In this world of freedom where people are all about YOLO, and I-just-wanna-have-fun, and this-is-me-I'm-born-this-way, and I-can-believe-in-anything-except-for-religion, just take a little time and think about this: if fairies, ghosts, witchcraft and voodoo are believable, why shouldn't God be?

PS. Btw, have you heard of Taylor Swift's Begin Again? It's pretty good!

Begin Again

I used to wonder how to know if one's desire to worship God is sincere or not. I even doubt myself sometimes, asking myself what are my motives on wanting to be close to God. Is it because the promise of eternal life? Is it because I don't want to go to Hell? Is it because everyone's around me doing it? Is it because it's an obligation? Or is it simply because I love God?

Of course what it is supposed to be is because of love. Love makes you obey and worship voluntarily. Love makes you want to sacrifice, to give, to care, and to think about the object of love before yourself. But what about my own motive? I don't want to be those people who talk about Jesus for their own benefits. But I couldn't even know for sure about myself? What if I have become corrupted without noticing it?

Well, I found out the answer today.

Recently I've been faced with, umm, some inconvenient truth. Do you remember the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego? I was kind of in that kind of situation - no, I wasn't about to be thrown into a real blazing furnace. I was waiting. Waiting to see whether God will bring me into my own 'blazing furnace' or save me from it. Daniel 3:17-18 made me realize that whatever it is that God intended to be done upon me, so be it. Between my prayers and worries I imagined how it would felt if He had saved me. I told myself I would be praising Him and be so grateful.

But what startled my own self was the fact that I could do that even before He's saving me. I was in the gym this morning, listening to Jesus Culture's Sing My Love and the lyrics was just too beautiful not to be put on my status. So while singing my praise to Him I put the lyrics 'Praise the Lord! My soul makes its boast in the Lord.' Not long after my sister asked me if I was saved or not, and I said, 'I don't know.' Because I hadn't known. She asked me because she saw my status.

And then I realized. Even in my struggles I could still praising Him. And what's even more incredible, I wasn't even thinking about my struggles when I praised Him. It's just a pure worship - and gym - session for me to the Lord. And I thought, 'Huh.. Not bad, Sissy!' Now I know for sure, that I really love Him, in both sad and good times. And at that moment I began to understand truly the meaning of Daniel 3:17-18. Following Jesus doesn't mean smooth path. You'll cry. You'll be stressed. You'll be scared. You'll face many problems. But it's not gonna lessen His glory, His power and His presence. He's just... worthy. Now I know even if He didn't save me, I'd still rejoice in Him. And I'm very glad to have that feeling.

It's kinda like being in a relationship you know... When you love someone, you might expect that person to do something for you. But when that person doesn't do that, you just couldn't help yourself to be angry. A slight disappointment maybe, but your feelings won't change. Because it's love.

So people, no matter what kind of problems you're facing now, don't blame God, someone you love. Also don't blame the person you love. Just sing it. Sing your love. :)

Daniel 3:17-18 (NKJV)
- If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

May you all be blessed!

Now I know

It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old
From angels bending near the earth
To touch their harps of gold:
"Peace on the earth, good will to men
From heaven's all gracious king."
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing

Still through the cloven skies they come
with peaceful wings unfurled
And still their heavenly music floats
O'er all the weary world
Above its sad and lowly plains
They bend on hovering wing
And ever o'er its Babel sounds
The blessed angels sing

All ye, beneath life's crushing load
Whose forms are bending low
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow
Look, now for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing
O rest beside the weary road
And hear the angels sing
And hear the angels sing

Lyrics from Christmas Carol,
performed by Sixpence None The Richer

I really enjoy this song, and I just realized this is a Christmas song. How weird is that. I love the grammar and how the structure of the words reflecting classic English. Isn't it just beautiful? I love this song so much.

Rehab - Rihanna

Damn, ain't it crazy when you're love swept
You'd do anything for the one you love
'Cause anytime that you needed me I'd be there
It's like you were my favorite drug
The only problem is that you was using me
In a different way than I was using you
But now that I know it's not meant to be
I gotta go, I gotta wean myself off of you

And I'll never give myself to another the way I gave it to you
You don't even recognize the ways you hurt me, do you?
It's gonna take a miracle to bring me back
And you're the one to blame'
Cause now I feel like....oh

Rihanna - Rehab

*I just don't get why Rihanna had to wear that outfit and why Justin should be there, he barely even sing. Even though he wrote the song doesn't mean he has to be in the video right? I think he wants to be the next Timbaland..

Gucci, Fendi, Prada purses, purchasing them finer things
Men they come a dime a dozen, just give me them diamond rings
I'm into a lot of bling, Cadillac, Chanel and Coach
Fellas boast but they can't really handle my female approach
Buying things is hard to say
Rocking Christian Audigier, Manolo, Polo, taking photos in my Cartier
So we can't go all the way, I know you might hate it but
I'm a shop for labels while them ladies lay and wait for love

Love's like a runway but which one do I love more?
No emotional baggage, just big bags filled with Dior
Love's like a runway, so what's all the fussing for?
Let's stop chasing them boys and shop some more.

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
