When I was little I had a habit of wishing time to go faster. The longest year I've gone through will be the year 1996. I was only six years old and I asked mom about the time and date for a few days straight. I remember exactly what I thought about it back then (it's amazing how I remember some very detail things about my past). I thought I would be forever in year 1996 and when year 1997 came I might have been old already.

A bit of an irony to think how 2014 gone in a blink of an eye. It is now less than six hour to 2015. It seems like it was just yesterday I spent 2013 Christmas in Korea. What have happened these past 12 months? To compare it with 2013, I'd say this year was ending in a gloomier way, not that I am losing hope for 2015.

I didn't post any reflection about 2013 as I did about 2012. 2013 was the year where I promised I would blog more, saying that writing was my true passion. But I stopped posting anything after August and only continue on 2014. And I didn't think I got better this year.

I started 2014 afresh and was with new hope of things to come. And I couldn't deny it; it has been the greatest time I've ever had. I went to Europe and visiting many countries. I went to Australia (Perth and Sydney) and get to take care of my new born second niece, Chelsea. I was baptized (!!!) in Sydney. I went to the States and had the most fun in LA. I've tasted so many good food my weight couldn't tolerate them no more. I've fallen in and out of love (again). I've got to meet my friends from Sydney. I've got to attend my fellow friend from Sydney's wedding. My sister was getting married!! All these happenings have brought me tears of joy and still I wish I could've done it better.

Anyway, life doesn't only come with good things, you got to take the bad stuff too. This year, on Christmas Eve, my grandmother passed away. It was so heartbreaking to see her weak body lying on the bed. But I was also thankful because she didn't have to go through the pain facing her illness anymore. To top it off, I heard about the news of Air Asia flight QZ8501 gone missing. It was devastating to have this kind of accident especially on this festive season. The whole passengers have been confirmed dead yesterday.

These things remind me of how fragile human life is. And how important it is to live our life to the fullest, and to always doing God's will. Life is but a short breath, a short wind. It can stop anytime, anywhere. I am so thankful to God for protecting me and my family throughout this year, and all those years before.

I wonder how 2015 will start and end. What my life would bring this time? What kind of challenges will I be facing? What kind of a person will I be? Where would I be next year? What would I do? No matter what will happen, I hope God's love and blessings will always be with me. And I hope I could do better than this year. I hope I won't fail on God. And I hope I won't fail on me.

2015 will be a hopeful year.

Happy New Year 2015 everyone!

God Bless You!

Happy (Chinese) New Year guys!

Chinese annual wishes in welcoming the new year goes like this:

恭喜发财
gong xi fa cai
新年快乐
xin nian kuai le
万事如意
wan shi ru yi
歲歲平安
sui sui ping an
年年有余
nian nian you yu

It basically says Happy new year, may you have a good luck, years of peacefulness, be prosperous and may this year would be better (not respectively).

I didn't celebrate CNY for the past two years (I was in Sydney two years ago, and my grandpa passed away last year) so this one felt like something new. Something that I hadn't been doing for quite some time. But somehow, it didn't go as well as I'd expected.

Maybe it was just me… Or maybe Dad's getting old tired. But his temper rises as easy as I put the CNY cookies into my mouth. Seriously. We used to say to each other not to ruin the new year's aura with anger and negative feelings. But just three hours before NY he complained about the dinner. And then he got mad on the first day of NY. This morning he yelled at my mom, sister, brother and I.

Whooa.

Somebody needs a chill pill.

Well, maybe we were also at fault. But I really wish he can at least be more gentle in expressing his dislikes towards our attitude. And I think my hormones didn't help much to cope up with his anger and mean words.

It was still a fun day though. I met all the family and we had a good time. Had lots of sweets and cookies and cakes (also spring rolls and fried dumplings!) I think I gained more kilos than what I had lost.

I just love this kind of celebration. Very oriental. Very 'asian'. LOL. Very… familiar. :)

Wishing you a great new year people!

GBU.

Verse to remember:
1 Corinthians 2:9
"But as it is written;
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man,
The things which God prepared for those who love Him."

I don't know if any of you readers realize, but I've been blogging since 2007. That means this year is my sixth year writing a blog. Wowzer. My relationship couldn't even pass one year. Ha!

Anyway, I was trying to re-read all of my posts since 2007 but I gave up reading all of them. There are too many for me. I don't even remember half of the things I posted. And they way I wrote (sucks..), my perspectives, my english. They're very different now.

I've changed again. And I even stumble on one of my older post where I said I was scared of changes. And how my former - I guess - BFF told me how we were still friends no matter what. It's funny ey. I still think the same way though. Changes are scary, but they are something you have to go through. And I feel so thankful with all the changes that happened to me.

So I was looking for my previous 'New Year Resolutions' posts and I could only find one! It was the year 2010. Apparently I wasn't a big fan of resolutions. It kinda makes me feel I shouldn't have made or posted this year's resolutions. Tee Hee!

But I kinda already given my thoughts about it, so I'm just going to give it a go. You know. And I'd be able to re-introspect myself by the end of this year. Awesome!

My 2013 Resolutions:

  1. Be more patient: I was once the most patient person my family ever known. But they said I've changed. My sister said she thought I was angry to life last year, because of what happened to me and Luke. LOL. I think it's ridiculous. But I have to admit I'm not as patient as I used to be. I want to have that passion again; to be able to tolerate a lot. I want to listen more, and get angry less. And yes, now my sister thinks I'm not angry to life anymore. But she thinks I'm way too firm.
  2. Finish the bible (this time for real): People might get tired of reading this point on my list. But I am now in Romans and with confident I believe I can finish reading the bible by this year! :)
  3. Stop saying dirty/bad words: I stopped for a while but lately I've been cursing again. It's not very feminine. Or appropriate. Or respectful. It's very impolite. So I must not curse anymore.
  4. Eat healthier food: A glass of Easyway everyday is thooootally unhealthy.
  5. Stop judging people too fast: I do this unconsciously. I ended up liking or hating someone way too soon.
  6. Write more: Obviously.
  7. Read more: I haven't been using my brain properly.
  8. Pray more: Talking to God is one of my fave religious activities. But I think I have to just spend a little extra time for some more. :)
  9. Stop being single: LOL. I'm not being desperate, but I think it's time. 2010 was the year of love. 2011 was the year of broken-heart. 2012 was the year of healing. 2013 is going to be enchanting, I believe.
  10. Focus less on material things: I've lost my perspective at one point, and now I'm indulged in material things way too much. Just now I thought about my future, and how I want a husband who's financially independent. And I got scared to think if he's not as capable as what my parents expect. Or as I've expected. I was then stumbled upon one of my older posts. I wrote that all I wanted was a person who I love, who makes me a better person. I mean, money is important. Who doesn't want to be rich? But it doesn't defy who you are. Right? I still want a person who I love. It is up to God how or who He choose to bless me with. I'll be alright :)
AMEN.

2013: A - Hopefully - Wonderstruck Year

Friday, January 4, 2013

Hi again.. :)

It turns out my spirit to write burns much brighter in 2013. I hope I will always have the same spirit to write throughout the year. You know how it all starts in every new year. It's time for making resolutions!! *big yawn*

Let's be honest, no one likes resolutions. Well at first it's going to be really fun but by the end of the year it's going to be a list from hell that you can't seem to fulfill. Or maybe it's just me who made unrealistic and unachievable resolutions.

Anyhow, before I complain and rant on about what my goals are in 2013, I want to just reflect everything that has happened in 2012:

  • January: I was in Macau on New Year's Eve. I was still devastated over my breaking up with Luke and I was really, really sick I couldn't enjoy my holiday. And then my grandpa passed away. I must say it certainly wasn't the best way to start the year. Little did I know that my sister was already about two weeks pregnant. Well, little did everyone know. And honestly, I'm glad to know now that something good happened around that time. :)
  • February: Still heart-broken. And it was the time of the year where everybody celebrated 'love'. It sucked. LOL. Went to Singapore for six weeks with my sister and it was a great escape for us! We went shopping, trying good food, visiting the orchid garden. I think my heart was healing - slowly - around this time.
  • March: Back to hometown. Was struggling to get used to live there. Missing Sydney a lot! But then I hung out with new friends - my sister's friends actually - and things seemed to get better.
  • April: I decided to start to go to gym. Tada! I won't say it's the best decision but I really needed to lose few kilos.
  • May: Ok, I couldn't remember what happened on this month. I can't even remember where I was or what I did. I think I was just helping my parents with their works, going out with my friends, spending quality time with my laptop and with my parents as well.
  • June: Time for holiday! Went to USA. Awesome!!
  • July: Still awesome! Was in USA for the first two weeks of July. Nothing significant happened - even on my birthday! Got iPad for my birthday pressie though. The highlight of the month. Can't think of anything else other than playing with it. I abandoned both my macbook and iPod. OH! I also got an awesome present from my friends (H necklace). I. Love. It. Luke gave me cross charm from Pandora. It was beautiful.
  • August: Things were pretty much the same as on May. Was back to hometown and enjoy quality time with friends, with church, and with work. I think it's around this time I started my job as a freelance translator (right, Christy? :P). Got to know how tough it is to work as a translator - mostly by the fact that the pay sucked, even for a full-timer. Ha ha ha!
  • September: My sister's friend got married and I was the bridesmaid! Along with my bestie, Fanny, and also Brian and Yonax. It was fun, but I kind-of hating my dress. It didn't fit really well on my body and it was making me look like a 20 year-old face with a 35 year-old body. Ughh. Ok maybe it's just me who thought that way. But one thing for sure: being a bridesmaid is a tough job!
  • October: Another two weddings to go, with me being the bridesmaid of one of them. I think this was the month where I realized that men still think I was interesting. Not that I had issue with self-esteem, but I just didn't know that I still had it. You know? Ha! Just kidding. I was shocked on an occasion, and flattered on the other. Was really exciting because I was going to Perth - and Sydney! And the best part about October was because i got to go to Bigbang's concert!!!! Kyaaaaa!!! Bigbang was super great! Everyone's really really handsome! 진짜!
Was sick at the end of the month though. The bridesmaid and wedding thingy had taken its toll. Couldn't get close to Brooklyn even if I wanted to really bad. :(
  • November: Another highlight of the year. Went to Sydney to surprise my friends - and they were surprised!! :))) Had the greatest time for my short stay there. It was the best November I've ever had. Went to Melbourne as well. Learned how to play mahjong, and also got to try all the food that I've been craving for so long. It was short-lived though. Back to Perth and started my life as a nanny :p I enjoyed it. Maybe because she's my niece. And she's very cute. And chubby. And round. And tiny. And adorable. And she kept making cute noises all the time. I just love everything about her. I couldn't even get angry to her. Awwww. Bad news was I had breakout. It was major. Worst thing ever happened to my face :(
  • December: Brooklyn was turning two months old and she was getting cuter and cuter. I wish my children will all be as cute as her. Ha! Mom and dad and my bro came to Perth and we had fun all the time! Learned that Luke had scored himself a girlfriend and wow, it had been more than a year (me and luke broke up)! I genuinely hope they'll last. I wish you a happy life, if you're reading my post now, Luke. :) God bless. Back to my point, I visited casino and won some money! I had never won this much in my life. I never had won anything in my life! I was so proud. But guys, gambling is sinful so don't do what I did. It was just for fun.. Hahaha. Another thing to mention was… I had been praying, quite a lot to God. Was asking for a sign. I wasn't sure if my prayer was valid. I'm still not sure now. Even though He had given me the answer.. I guess. It was really nerve-wrecking as I waited for the answer.
My latest request would be two days ago. I can't tell you what it was all about but all I can say is… It's funny how you find out you really want/like something/someone when you're about to lose it/them. Does it make any sense? I think I need to pray more. On the other hand, I've been way out of topic so I'll just shut.

That's how I spent the whole twelve months last year. I hope I've done something useful. Well I'm a well-trained mother-to-be now ;) And I've seen many new places. And I realize that I really love Australia. I hope I'll keep on coming back to this place. Sydney, I'm talking about you. Ha!

That's all for now. I'm gonna spend the rest of this day thinking about my new year's resolutions. I'll keep you updated!

xo

New Year guys!

Thanks to you who keep on reading, even though most of my posts are silly and not important!

Hahaha

Hope you will have wonderful time throughout this year and remember to always stay close or even closer to God.
